Eric Church isn’t afraid to get his hands dirty in the name of helping a neighbor out. The country singer is planning to build dozens of homes in Avery County, North Carolina, for families left homeless last fall by Hurricane Helene. "It is our hope to have an official groundbreaking near Easter and get families in the homes this summer."
Rory Feek’s daughter, Hopie Feek, is speaking out about her complicated relationship with the country singer after she revealed that he is not her biological father. On Feb. 8, Hopie, 36, announced on social media she took a 23andMe test that determined she was not biologically related to Rory, who raised her and her sister Heidi, 38, as a single parent after ending his marriage to their mother. Hopie said that she discovered that her biological father was a man that she identified as B.C. In a post he uploaded on his blog Feb. 11, Rory recalled his reaction when Hopie shared the results of her DNA test with him and explained why he had previously harbored suspicions that she may have been fathered by another man.

A recently discovered asteroid, named 2024 YR4, has a 2.8% to 3.1% chance of hitting Earth in 2032, according to NASA and the European Space Agency. While the odds of an impact are slim, astronomers are closely tracking the space rock to uncover more details — a process that could soon involve the most powerful observatory ever launched into space. Not much is known about 2024 YR4, but the asteroid is estimated to be 131 to 295 feet (40 to 90 meters) wide, a “size range comparable to that of a large building,” said Dr. Paul Chodas, manager for the Center for Near-Earth Object Studies, or CNEOS, at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, California.
A recently discovered asteroid, named 2024 YR4, is now the riskiest asteroid ever detected. On Tuesday, NASA calculated that the space rock had a 3.1% chance of hitting Earth in 2032, while the European Space Agency’s risk assessment sits at 2.8%. The narrow difference is due to the two agencies’ use of different tools for determining the asteroid’s orbit and modeling its potential impact. But both percentages rise above the 2.7% chance of collision once associated with an asteroid discovered in 2004 called Apophis, making 2024 YR4 the most significant space rock to be spotted within the past two decades.

One of the greatest fighters never to compete in the UFC is about to change that. "Pitbull" is headed to the UFC. Patricio Freire has signed with the promotion and will debut vs. Yair Rodriguez at UFC 314 on April 12. The event takes place at Kaseya Center in Miami. Freire (36-7 MMA, 0-0 UFC) is considered by many to be the greatest fighter in Bellator history. He predominantly competed at featherweight, where he was champion for three separate stints, but also held the promotion's lightweight title. Rodriguez (19-5 MMA, 10-4 UFC) has not competed in the UFC since a February 2024 submission loss to Brian Ortega. The bout was his second in a row, as he previously lost a title unification bout to Alexander Volkanovski in July 2023.
