The U.S. Coast Guard suspended its search over the weekend for a missing member of the military branch, the service said Monday. The missing crew member was identified as Seaman Bryan K. Lee was discovered missing at 6:45 a.m. while the ship was conducting a routine counter-drug patrol approximately 300 nautical miles south of Mexico. It immediately deviated from its patrol and initiated a comprehensive search effort.

The Chiefs’ appearance in the game is a record in itself, as no team has made five Super Bowls in six years before this season.
In 1982, Mike Holmgren’s responsibilities as an assistant football coach at Brigham Young University included keeping the staff’s six young graduate assistants in line. He quickly grew to like one in particular: a 24-year-old former BYU offensive lineman from Southern California named Andy Reid. Reid took copious amounts of notes and was a good listener, and his mix of self-effacement and football curiosity made him someone Holmgren, who was a decade older, liked hanging around.

Winter storms are about to blitz through the eastern half of the United States at a frenetic pace that could continue for a couple of weeks. The jet stream, essentially a river of air in the atmosphere that storms flow through, is locked in an almost perfect line from west to east, and will funnel storms across the northern tier of the Lower 48. New storms will arrive every few days until the jet stream shifts — something that might not happen until the second half of February.
