A Delta Air Lines commuter plane arriving from Minneapolis has crashed at Canada’s Toronto Pearson Airport, according to the Federal Aviation Administration, with images of the incident showing the aircraft flipped upside down. “Emergency teams are responding. All passengers and crew are accounted for,” the airport said in a statement on X. All 80 people aboard Delta flight 4819 have been evacuated, the FAA said. “Delta Air Lines Flight 4819, operated by Endeavor Air, crashed while landing at Toronto Pearson International Airport in Canada around 2:45 p.m. local time,” the statement said, noting the airplane had departed from Minneapolis/St. Paul International Airport.

South Korean actor Kim Sae-ron was found dead at her home in Seoul on Sunday, nearly two years after she retreated from the public eye following a drunk driving conviction. She was 24. Kim’s body was discovered by a friend, according to police. There were no signs of foul play and officers are investigating the circumstances of her death, a police official told CNN. Kim began her career as a child actor and gained widespread recognition, including an appearance at the Cannes Film Festival, for her role as a girl abandoned at an orphanage in 2009 movie “A Brand New Life.”

Kentucky mother, 7-year-old daughter among dozen dead from flooding

A mother and her 7-year-old daughter are among at least a dozen people dead in Kentucky after severe flooding struck the state, officials said on Sunday. The mother and child were swept away Saturday night in Kentucky's Bonnieville community after their vehicle was completely submerged in floodwater, Hart County Coroner Tony Roberts said. Roberts said the child’s body was recovered later Saturday night, while Hart County Search and Rescue said the mother’s body was recovered Sunday afternoon, WNKY-TV reported. The identities of the mother and child were not immediately released.

Shakira to resume world tour in Peru after canceling concert due to 'abdominal issue'

"The doctors taking care of me have informed me that I'm not in condition to perform a concert tonight," Shakira wrote on her Instagram Story, in Spanish. The singer noted the show will be postponed to a later date and said her team is working with the concert promoter on rescheduling.

Archaeologists uncover ancient 'city of the dead' in Italy: 'Perfectly preserved'

Archaeologists recently discovered an ancient "city of the dead" in Italy, dating back nearly 3,000 years. The Italian province of Trentino said in a news release that a "monumental necropolis" from the Iron Age was found in the city of Trento. It dates back to the 9th century B.C. and was used through the 6th century B.C. Trento sits on the Adige River in northern Italy, near the Italian Alps. The necropolis was developed at a time when "a wide bed of the Fersina stream [basin] crossed by a network of torrential canals that intertwined with each other, separated by temporary sandy or gravelly bars," the release, translated from Italian to English, described.

One passenger is calling out a seat squatter as a flight out of Houston sparked a discussion on social media. In the "r/unitedairlines" forum on Reddit, a user titled a post, "First bold seat thief." "I have had my first interaction with a seat stealer," the post reads. The flyer said he was on a regional flight in a 1-2 configuration and witnessed a woman trying to sit in a different passenger’s seat."She gathers up her three personal items and moves back 4 row to the A exit row across from me. After about 30 secs she turns to me and asks if I think she can stay there," the user wrote.

Crews rescue teen from 50-foot-deep California mineshaft

A teenager was rescued from a California mineshaft after he and his friends decided to explore the cave using household rope, officials said. The Placer County Fire Department said crews, with the help of the Auburn City Fire Department, responded to a medical rescue on Feb. 10, for a 16-year-old boy who was stuck in a vertical mine shaft nearly 50 feet deep. When crews arrived, they were led into the cave by the victim’s friends and learned that he and his friends had entered the shaft to explore, after hiking about 180 feet through a horizontal shaft into the side of a mountain.
