The cause of death for actress Michelle Trachtenberg has been ruled “undetermined” by the New York City Medical Examiner, according to an agency spokesperson. Trachtenberg, whose memorable projects included roles in “Harriet the Spy” and “Gossip Girl,” died Wednesday in Manhattan. She was 39. Her family declined an autopsy and because Trachtenberg’s death was not deemed suspicious by law enforcement, the medical examiner’s office honored that request, the spokesperson said.
Gene Hackman, the unpretentious actor whose performances in such films as “The French Connection,” “Hoosiers,” “Unforgiven” and “The Firm” elevated character roles to leading-man levels, has died. He was 95. Hackman and his wife, Betsy Arakawa, were found dead in their home in New Mexico along with their dog, according to the Santa Fe County Sheriff’s Office. Hackman’s best roles were often of conflicted authority figures or surprisingly clever white-collar villains. Many held a hint – sometimes more than a hint – of menace.
As we continue to settle in to the luxurious and twisty experience that is another season of “The White Lotus,” there’s one character worth talking about who doesn’t even appear on screen: Mike White, the auteur who has singlehandedly written and directed all three seasons of the endlessly meme-ified series. White is a prolific fixture in Hollywood, responsible f
Michelle Trachtenberg’s former “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” costar Sarah Michelle Gellar is looking back at their time together on screen and off, one day after Trachtenberg died in New York City. On Thursday, Gellar posted a series of photos to her verified Instagram account that showed her and the late 39-year-old former child actress throughout the years. They included moments from the show, their time promoting it and some seemingly personal photographs, including one of Trachtenberg smiling at an infant in a tender moment.
“The Substance” is decidedly not a film for the squeamish. The gross-out fairy tale is one of the few horror flicks to be recognized by the Academy Awards in categories beyond makeup (though it was deservedly nominated there, too). The excessive gore, much of which occurs while its actresses are nude, may have dissuaded some viewers from checking out the film that could win first-time nominee Demi Moore an Oscar for best actress. The splatter of “The Substance” is cartoonish and over-the-top. But its grossest scenes don’t register the same as a brutal kill in a typical scary movie because the violence here is so heightened — and has something to say, director Coralie Fargeat hopes.
Kathie Lee Gifford’s friendship with President Trump goes back decades, and the talk show legend has every faith in his ability to have a great second term. "He is an ever-evolving human being, and this man will not rest until he has fulfilled every promise that he has made to the American people. That I do know about Donald," Gifford told Fox News Digital as Trump enters his second month in office.
Jason Knauf, the former palace aide who accused Meghan Markle of bullying, gave a rare, televised interview shortly before the Duchess of Sussex launches her Netflix series. Knauf, who worked as the communications secretary for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, was asked by "60 Minutes Australia" if it was tough to find himself in the spotlight after the allegations went public. Knauf said he had "no regrets" and "wouldn’t change anything."
LOS ANGELES — HGTV star Ty Pennington is reflecting on, as well as poking fun at, his near-death experience that occurred nearly two years ago. Pennington, who stars in the upcoming movie "No Address," told Fox News Digital that the life-threatening incident was one of his "best experiences." "You find out who loves you because people message you, and you're like, 'My God, it's like you died.' And people finally message you and say, ‘My God, I forgot how much I love you.’ So it was one of the best experiences because you realize how much you're worth to other people and how much you would be missed," Pennington said.
Princess Diana’s former lover is breaking his silence on Prince William and Prince Harry’s feud. James Hewitt, who had an affair with the late Princess of Wales during her marriage to the future King Charles III, appeared on "Good Morning Britain" on Tuesday. The British Army officer was there to discuss his work with Operation Safedrop, which delivers humanitarian aid to Ukraine. The 66-year-old was asked about the ongoing fallout between the Prince of Wales, 42, and the Duke of Sussex, 40.
With more than 3,300 episodes under his belt over 18 years, Drew Carey still feels like the "new guy" on "The Price is Right." "They told me it was my 3,317th episode. Sometimes I feel like it’s not that long, and sometimes I feel like I’ve always been there," the 66-year-old comedian told Variety as the show celebrates 10,000 episodes since it began with host Bob Barker in 1972. "Bob Barker is two-thirds. I’m still the new guy!" he joked after he was told that he has hosted one-third of the show’s run.
