The Dutton family saga returns Sunday with Season 2 of "Yellowstone" prequel "1923" dropping on Paramount+. In the prequel series, the ancestors of the Duttons from "Yellowstone," Cara and Jacob Dutton (Helen Mirren and Harrison Ford), face a "cruel winter" that will bring "new challenges and unfinished business," according to the season's official synopsis. "1923," which chronicles one generation of the Dutton family, is the second "Yellowstone" prequel, following the events of the limited series "1883" (released in 2021) and before the current day "Yellowstone." "With harsh conditions and adversaries threatening to end the Dutton legacy, Spencer embarks on an arduous journey home, racing against time to save his family in Montana," the series synopsis says. "Meanwhile, Alexandra sets off on her own harrowing trans-Atlantic journey to find Spencer and reclaim their love."

The NBC Original will make its debut nearly six years the original concluded. And fans of the original will get to see Harvey again. "Suits LA" follows Ted Black, a former federal prosecutor from New York who has reinvented himself by representing the most powerful clients in Los Angeles, according to NBC's logline. In an interview with The New York Times, Aaron Korsh, who created and produced both projects, says he's not sweating the small stuff this time around. Korsh's loyalty is to himself, to the version of the show he wants to make.

Organizers announced Thursday presenters will also include “Wicked” co-stars Cynthia Erivo and Bowen Yang. The musical is the leading nominee at the show, which will be streamed live on Netflix. Chalamet is nominated for his performance as Bob Dylan in “A Complete Unknown,” Gomez is part of the nominated ensemble for “Emilia Pérez” and Madison is nominated for best female actor in a film role and as part of the “Anora” ensemble.
Movie Review: ‘The Monkey’ is a family drama with guts — the kind that spill all over the place
It’s not a toy. Whatever you do, do NOT call it a toy. That’s the chilling message from the spooked airline pilot (Adam Scott) who arrives at a pawn shop, covered in blood that’s not his, trying to get rid of the monkey. It’s an old mechanical organ grinder toy — sorry, NOT a toy! — and it’s been causing lots of chaos. Thus begins “The Monkey,” Osgood Perkins’ latest horror film, an absorbing and stylish if not quite smoothly blended mix of family drama, humor, and blood-and-guts mayhem. Not all of it works, but it’s never uninteresting or uncreative — especially when it comes to finding inventively horrible (or horribly inventive) ways for people to die. Perkins, basing his story on a 1980 tale by Stephen King, has returned to a few themes from “Longlegs,” his breakout horror hit of last year. For one, he clearly has a thing for creepy dolls. (And after this film, you may never find a monkey’s face cute again.)
Movie Review: Hit man pic ‘Old Guy’ has style, but it’s no bull’s-eye
A boomer hit man is given a nightmare final assignment to train his own Gen Z replacement in Simon West’s lifeless action-comedy “Old Guy.” Christoph Waltz’s Danny Dolinski is the one at an unwelcome crossroads in the film. He’s only partially healed from a hand injury that’s rendered him dependent on pills and unable to aim a gun as well as he used to. Dolinski also seems to be in the throes of a full crisis: We meet him not on the job, or even in flashback to his pre-injury glory, but out clubbing. The next morning, Dolinski emerges in a bathrobe to gaze proudly upon the several much younger women who have spent the night. But a room full of scantily clothed model-types who seem to be there willingly is only a temporary balm for poor Dolinski. While he might still be a viable specimen for the 20-something party girls of London, his game does not hold the same appeal in the workplace. Soon he’ll be getting the dreaded “we’re going younger” talk from his boss, and she’s talking about him, not his love interests. This is a guy who is certain he’s got a lot left to give in the assassin game, and not as a mentor to a “hitman prodigy,” as Cooper Hoffman’s character Wihlborg is described.
