It's the weekend before the 97th Academy Awards, and while we were waiting for the Screen Actors Guild to give us clear frontrunners in a wild Oscar season — chaos ensued instead. "Conclave" won best ensemble, beating "Anora" and derailing its best picture momentum after directors' and producers' guild wins. Timothée Chalamet ("A Complete Unknown") and Demi Moore ("The Substance") also picked up key best actor and actress wins at SAG – Chalamet's victory over "The Brutalist" star Adrien Brody was something of an upset. But all in all, it was a night devoid of major hiccups — scroll through for some of the best moments from the awards show, starting with Moore posing with her SAG Award.
Former Vice President Kamala Harris stepped on the NAACP Image Awards stage Saturday night with a sobering message, calling the civil rights organization a pillar of the Black community and urging people to stay resilient and hold onto their faith during the tenure of President Donald Trump. “While we have no illusions about what we are up against in this chapter in our American story, this chapter will be written not simply by whoever occupies the oval office nor by the wealthiest among us,” Harris said after receiving the NAACP’s Chairman’s Award. “The American story will be written by you. Written by us. By we the people.”
This is 46 for Jennifer Love Hewitt. The "I Know What You Did Last Summer" star reflected on aging in an Instagram post on Friday as she shared several makeup-free selfies to celebrate her 46th birthday. "I have experienced and seen how the world can be cruel to women as they age and yet seen the women I admire become happier, sexier and more powerful with every added number," she said. "I am so deeply grateful for this life. I love all who choose to do it by my side and I am ready to give love today to the younger me and the older me because they are my ride or die's." Jennifer Love Hewitt attends the FOX Summer TCA party on Aug. 7, 2019, in Los Angeles. Hewitt posted a series of photos of herself with "no make up and no filter" and said the post is for a friend of hers who hates filters.

Each year at the Screen Actors Guild Awards, a select number of artists are bestowed with the honor of declaring to the audience, "I am an actor." And about as many stars get to say, "I am an actor on the best-dressed list." At Sundays SAG Awards, hosted by Kristen Bell, the stars paraded down a navy carpet in their awards show best before heading inside for the ceremony streaming live from Los Angeles' Shrine Auditorium beginning at 8 ET/5 PT on Netflix. Attendees like Millie Bobby Brown, Fran Drescher, Danielle Deadwyler and Monica Barbaro embraced shades of pink and red on the carpet. Others like Mikey Madison opted for silver-toned designs.
Jodie Foster brought her leading man to the Screen Actors Guild Awards. The SAG-winning actress was joined by her son Charles Bernard Foster on the red carpet Sunday for a rare mother-son outing. Foster, who is nominated for best actress in a television movie or limited series, cut a glamorous figure in a tasseled burgundy dress, while Charles kept it classic in a black-and-white tuxedo. The pair appeared to enjoy themselves on the SAG carpet, with both flashing bright smiles for the camera. Foster shares Charles with former partner Cydney Bernard, who worked as a production coordinator on Foster's 1993 film "Sommersby."
Taylor Sheridan's "1923" Season 2 premiere episode (now streaming on Paramount+) pays a dedication to one of the Western series' rising stars, Cole Brings Plenty, who died last year at age 27. Brings Plenty played sheepherder Pete Plenty Clouds in Season 1 of "1923" and is the nephew of "Yellowstone" star and Native American consultant Mo Brings Plenty. The actor and activist was found dead last April in Johnson County, Kansas, a week after his family reported him missing. Brings Plenty was destined for an expanding "1923" role after Season 1 appearances as Pete alongside central "1923" character Teonna Rainwater (Aminah Nieves). In the Season 1 finale, Pete rode off with Teonna and her father, Runs His Horse (Michael Spears). Teonna, a member of the Broken Rock Reservation in "1923," had escaped life at an abusive Catholic boarding school in Montana and has been pursued by ruthless lawmen.
Former Vice President Kamala Harris urged viewers not to "surrender to cynicism and destruction" on Saturday as she was honored at the 2025 NAACP Image Awards. Harris attended the ceremony celebrating Black excellence and received the chairman's award, which is given to "individuals who excel in public service and leverage their unique platforms to ignite and drive meaningful change." She said the honor is special to her because she grew up "inspired" by the work of the NAACP, and the group is "part of the reason I chose a life of public service." She continued that Americans must have the same "sense of urgency" today that the NAACP's founders did, "knowing, as the saying goes, eternal vigilance is the price of liberty.
Helen Mirren has love advice for young people that demands to be heeded. And not just because the Dame of the British Empire and acting icon has been married for 28 years to director Taylor Hackford. Long-term relationship success doesn't come from passionate lovemaking, but from enduring emotional support, she says. "The sex and all of that is fabulous; don't get me wrong, it's great," Mirren says. "But it's the partnership that survives. That's one of the most beautiful things in human relationships. And we don't often see that on TV." We do in "1923," the Taylor Sheridan Yellowstone-verse Prohibition Era drama that kicks off Season 2 on Paramount+ Sunday, centered on the rare (for TV) mature relationship. Mirren, 79, stars as Cara Dutton, the 44-year partner of Jacob Dutton, played by Harrison Ford, 82.
